Strawberry Fields is a Colorado recreational and medical dispensary with five locations: Denver, Pueblo North, Pueblo Central, Trinidad and Downieville (six miles west of Idaho Springs on I-70). Their Denver location, 3435 S Yosemite Street received the city’s first cannabis delivery license.
Having the license for delivery does not mean that Strawberry Fields employees will be doing the delivery. They will work with a licensed transporter that qualifies as a social equity applicant, which is in place to level the cannabis opportunities for those effected by decades of criminal enforcement of marijuana laws on communities of color. The Marijuana Enforcement (MED) goal is to increase diversity in the number of Owner Licenses, which has less diverse representation in comparison to the number of Employee Licensees, so the industry is more reflective of Colorado’s demographics.
Strawberry Fields is in talks with sever potential partners including Doobba LLC, who was the first company to apply for a Denver Transporter license. The thought is that most Denver dispensaries will take it slow are it relates to delivery to evaluate the demand for the service.
Colorado issued its first adult-use marijuana delivery license in February after state lawmakers voted in May 2019 to approve home delivery.
