LivWell Garden City

LivWell Garden City is a recreational and medical dispensary located at  2647 8th Ave, Garden City, Colorado.  Garden City is a small town that is just south of Greeley and just off Highway 85.  It’s located in Weld County and was incorporated in 1938. Here’s the history… Garden City was founded after the repeal of Prohibition because Greeley voters, by a majority of 356 votes, voted in the local option election to make Greeley “dry” and prohibit the sale, manufacture, transportation, or possession of liquor in the city limits of Greeley. The morning following the election, two Greeley liquor stores were closed by the Chief of Police. The local newspaper, the Greeley Tribune published several articles of a Wet Town incorporating on Greeley’s southern edge, that was Garden City.  Garden City became a place for saloons and liquor stores serving residents of nearby Greeley.  Garden City is a small town, it has only 72 acres of land total! According to Tribune, the incorporation of Garden City was challenged and found to be invalid twice, but Garden City did finally become incorporated on the third attempt in 1938.
